a new wine from an old land

Pripa vineyards, comprise 16 ha situated on a southwest exposure hill of Dniester, part of the Hamza Valley.

This land is part of the PGI “Stefan Voda”. We returned to this soil the genuine vine species that have grown in this area since the nineteenth century — Feteasca Neagra and Rara Neagra, but also planted vines of Merlot, Saperavi, Feteasca Alba, and Feteasca Regala.

Right "after the hill", the Dniester flows through the lagoon into the Black sea. The air currents and the topography of the place form a unique, soft microclimate. The 8% inclination of the slope, protects the vine from the torrid sun, heavy winds, and frosting. Here, the grapes ripe homogeneously and keep the local mildness. The stones and the clay, create unique labyrinths for the roots, nourishing the grapes with peace and long-forgotten truths of the earth.

The amount harvested per hectare is controlled and does not exceed 6-7 tons, which ensures high-quality grapes and allows them to accumulate enough valuable substances. More than that — in order not to disturb or crush the grains, harvesting is strictly manual, with the use of scissors.

The wine is produced exclusively from our own grapes. The wine is maturated in veritable Moldovan oak barrels, crafted by three brothers — coopers in, at least, 3 generations, originating from Ulmu village.
